I have chosen this picture of my grandmother when she was a nursing student in Cleveland, Ohio. The year would have been 1931/32. My Grandma, Lela SAURER, is in the middle. Unfortunately I have no idea who her friends are.Imagine walking around a hospital ward all day in those shoes! They certainly don't look comfortable to me.
