10th Edition Smile for the Camera ~ Costume

For the 10th Edition of Smile For The Camera the theme is Costume.

This is defined as "dress in general; especially the distinctive style of dress of a people, class, or period. Show us that picture that you found with your family collection or purchased that shows the costumes of the rich to the not so rich, from the civil war to the psychedelic sixties."

I have chosen this picture of my grandmother when she was a nursing student in Cleveland, Ohio. The year would have been 1931/32. My Grandma, Lela SAURER, is in the middle. Unfortunately I have no idea who her friends are.

Imagine walking around a hospital ward all day in those shoes! They certainly don't look comfortable to me.

  1. Thanks for sharing this photo of your grandmother. It gives you an idea of what her young nursing student days but have been like.
